Tis’ the rainy season and a time once again for floods. If you happened to be in one on the road, please take note of the following tips to ensure the safety of you and your vehicle.
Disconnect the negative cable of your battery.
Do not start the engine and push it to a safer place with elevation.
Disengage and release the parking brake and maintain the transmission to the 1st gear for MT and P for AT.
Take photos of the interior and exterior of your vehicle which will be useful for the mechanic and insurance.
Allow at least 24 hours for your vehicle to dry out.
In extreme cases where water got to the dashboard, do not start the engine.
If water is not that high, open the hood and check the oil dipstick to check if there are traces of water in the lubrication system. If there is, do not start the engine.
Contact a professional mechanic and have your vehicle inspected. Drive safely.
